In 1998, Epic Games released its first shooter, Unreal. This was the memorable birth of the Unreal Engine. This engine has quickly become one of the most well-known game development software programs in the world.
Notable games using Unreal Engine include Unreal Tournament, Tekken 7, Bioshock, Batman’s Arkham series, and the Final Fantasy VII remake.
In 2012, Sweeny developed a blueprint to work with Chinese games and apps giant Tencent. Additionally, this combination of vision and experience on both sides has made Fortnite the esports giant it is today.
Epic Games is currently valued at over $18 billion.

Fortnite became a global phenomenon in 2017 and its shares have skyrocketed since then. Fortnite sales have exceeded $5 billion.
Due to the recent pandemic, Fortnite’s revenue reached $400 million in April 2020 alone.
